Updating your work authorization

If your Social Insurance Number indicates temporary residency, Canadian law requires your employer to keep your work permit expiry date on file. RoostPay will prompt you to add or update this information when it’s needed.

  1. From the Home screen, find the Update work authorization card under URGENT ACTIONS and tap Update. You can also reach this screen anytime from Settings under Employment, by tapping Manage work permit.
  2. On the Work Authorization screen, read the note explaining why this is required.
  3. If you have a permit on file already, it’s shown under Current work permit.
  4. Under Add new work permit, enter your Work permit expiry date.
  5. Add your permit document by tapping Take photo, Choose photo, or Upload file.
  6. If you need to replace a document you’ve already added, tap Replace file, or tap Remove to delete it.
  7. Tap Save Work Permit Information.
Note: The expiry date must be a future date, and a document upload is required before you can save.

Once saved, you’ll see a confirmation that your work authorization has been updated. Any previous permits you’ve submitted remain visible under Previous work permits, along with the date each one was uploaded.
