Completing Your Profile

After you create an employer account, RoostPay walks you through a short two-step setup called RoostPay Setup. This confirms your name, phone, and household address so pay stubs and tax calculations are accurate from the start.

1. Confirm your name and phone

  1. On the RoostPay Setup step, review the introduction explaining that RoostPay is proudly Canadian and never sells your data (there’s a link to the Privacy Policy if you’d like to read it).
  2. Under Full legal name, confirm or edit your Legal first name and Legal last name. This is the name used on pay stubs — you can change it later in Settings.
  3. Optionally enter your Phone. RoostPay may use this to contact you if you need support; it’s not required.
  4. Tap Next.
Note: If you're joining as a co-employer (your partner already has a RoostPay household), RoostPay pre-fills your name and phone from your partner's account where possible.

2. Set your household address

  1. On the Household Setup step, review the explanation: your address is required for legal pay stubs and determines your province for calculating taxes, overtime, vacation pay, and statutory holiday pay. This should be the location where the work is performed.
  2. Enter Address line 1 and, if needed, Address line 2 (optional).
  3. Enter your City.
  4. Select your Province or territory.
  5. Enter your Postal code.
  6. Tap Submit & Complete.
Note: If you're a co-employer, RoostPay fills in your household address from your partner's account automatically. Edit anything that differs — this should still be where the work is performed.

Once you submit, RoostPay takes you to your Home dashboard.

Edge cases

  • First name is required / Last name is required: shown if you try to continue without a legal first or last name.
  • Address line 1 is required, City is required, Province or territory is required, Postal code is required: shown if any required address field is left blank on the Household Setup step.
  • You cannot skip either step — both must be completed before you can use the rest of the app.
